Short about some feeligs about this…

Waking up to the World on Fire
“Honey, turn on the t.v. They just killed him.” She said as she read the final words of her text.
The baby slept soundly in his crib.
The president started to preside.
“It’s been 10 years coming. Thousands were murdered at his hands. An infamous day now lives in our hearts because of this man. Kids who will never see their father or mother again.”
He told a grim tale sprinkled with sounds of victory.
The crowd gathered outside of the white house as well. Singing how great this country was. Many of them probably with loved ones overseas. In that same reckless, endangered place. The heat. The smell. The life of a day to day soldier he’d never know.
“Can you believe it?” she asked.
“It’s been 10 years?” He thought. Remembering that cold garage he used to live in when they invaded Iraq. Near the place where they found him and killed him.
The baby could be heard snoring. His wife could be heard texting but no one could hear the rapid beating of his heart as he feared that tomorrow he would wake up to the world on fire. Would his son ever see the future? Or would he hold a disheveled body of his loved ones because the repercussions?
The morning saw men painting walls of praise to Osama.
Then began the nights where he would hold his wife close and hope that he would not have to hear his sons last snore as he lay quietly in his bed.
